Gizan is the capital city of Gizan Region in Southwest of Saudi Arabia, which lies in the corner of Saudi Arabia and directly north of the border with Yemen and it is situated on the coast of red sea, It has a population of approximately 1.9 million and covers an area of 1,671 sqm, Gizan has hot desert climate with average annual temp of above 30 °C. 

In early 20th centaury Gizan was the major site for when world war 1 began, and today, ambitious projects in transport, renewable energy, tourism and agricultural development are taking place in Gizan region.
