Suspended in Singapore

The city of Singapore is exciting enough, but when you get to see it from a new height – it’s completely exhilarating. Find your spot amongst Singapore’s skyline with these observation points and get aerial views of forests, skyscrapers and even Singapore’s neighboring countries.

MacRitchie Reservoir Park – TreeTop Walk

When people think of Singapore, they often picture a busy city center, skyscrapers and buzzing streets, but just beyond that you’ll find the vast forests of MacRitchie Reservoir Park. For the love of skylines, particularly green ones, MacRitchie National Park is an ideal day trip for anyone traveling around Singapore. MacRitchie Reservoir Park is famous for its adventurous hiking trails, bird-spotting and most of all – the TreeTop suspended walking bridge. A free-standing bridge connects the two highest points of MacRitchie Park, giving you better views of the forest canopy’s plant collection and local wildlife like the Macaque monkeys.

To reach the entrance point of the 250-meter-long TreeTop Walkway, you’ll need to hike through the forest which makes the journey, from start to finish, approximately 6 km. Every step is worth the views of an evergreen horizon of the forest canopy, you might even be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of the local birdlife.

Singapore Flyer

Traveling to a new destination is all about the experience, and there’s no better way to see all of Singapore than from 165 meters up in one of the world’s largest observation wheels – the Singapore Flyer.

Made up of 28 fully air-conditioned glass capsules, a full revolution of the wheel takes approximately 30 minutes. With panoramic views of Empress Place, Singapore River and more, you’ll be completely engrossed in every minute of it. Plus, if it’s a clear, crisp evening you could see some of Singapore’s neighboring countries, like Malaysia and Indonesia. A tip? Try board the Flyer just before nightfall and catch the last of the melting light followed by Singapore’s impressive city lights as they dance along the skyline. Timing is everything, after all.

Simply riding the wheel is exciting enough, but if you’re looking for bigger and better evening plans, the Singapore Flyer does not disappoint. You can book a table inside one of the capsules to enjoy a butler service and four course sky-dining experience. There are plenty of local dining spots in the area once you touch down, so hold out on your hunger for 30 minutes if you’re not up for the extravagant meal on the wheel.

1-Altitude Rooftop Bar

Singapore’s 1-Altitude Rooftop bar, is an all-in-one evening out – food? Yip. Live bands? Oh yes. 360 degree views of the city? Of course.

For starters, being the highest open-air bar in the world at 282 meters high, the city is yours for the evening. With 360 degree views of skyscrapers, you’ll be swept off your feet by the surrounding sights. As a popular spot amongst the locals, 1-Altitude is a musical hub with frequent appearances from international DJs and better yet, a bunch of local bands.

When it comes to the drinks, 1-Altitude is big on whiskey with an entire list dedicated to Japanese whiskeys. A main attraction? The cocktails of course. One that might catch your eye – The Pink Floyd cocktail – is a combination of premium vodka and grapefruit. To top it all off, the bar offers nibbles, and for the hungry, there’s a pizza bar too. Truffle oil fries or parmesan onion rings, a slice of pizza, cocktail in hand and Singapore’s skyline on every side. Could you picture anything better?
